Unit 2 Cross-years Highlights

An Interesting exploration of one’s self with Billie Muraben, designer and culture writer. In the crossyears workshop “Labour 3” we explore how to position ourselves as practitioners and designers in the form of writing.

There were many examples that were given to use. Billie thoroughly explained how to write third person or first person bios according to one’s preferred interest, worldview, and occupation.

We had to first of all list down any skills (hard skills and soft skills) we have, interests, potential future jobs, and cut them all out. Then we rearrange these labels to create a web, connecting unseeming fields and skills to discover what our interests look like from a macro level.

Finally, we arrange them into a web, select a route that seems the most dominant, and fit them into one of the examples Billie has given previously.

This excercise gave me a nice refresh into reflecting my current position as a professional designer looking for new horizons studying at CSM.
